Wi-fi has become an integral part of conferences. When we were planning Headstart 2009, Akash took ownership of setting up the internet connection end-to-end from getting the line in place to buying the routers and setting up the network. Having wi-fi working flawlessly enabled us (and the journalists) to provide live coverage of the event using social media such as twitter and live-blogging.
